Box of Rain ('68-'74 Dead tribute)
Box of Rain ('68-'74 Dead tribute)
BOX OF RAIN is the classic six piece that pay’s tribute to the most prolific and finest period of the GRATEFUL DEAD, 68-74. Featuring an all star lineup with former members of Dark Star Orchestra, Living Earth, Zen Tricksters and Dead On Live, BOX OF RAIN channels the sound and magic that could have only happened at that special time.

And what a time it was…the Dead were at the height of both their songwriting and improvisational prowess!!! Featuring an extended Pig Pen presence, one very swingin’ drummer and the most coherent and visceral space and improvisations, the typical 5-6 hour GD performances were legendary and a trip for sure.

BOX OF RAIN is a true labor of love with Bob Stirner (Living Earth / Boris Garcia) on lead guitar,Dave Berg (DSO, Dead On Live) on guitar, Jerry Marks (Living Earth) on bass and Pig Pen vocals,Bud Burroughs (Boris Garcia) on keys, Tim Kelly (Boris Garcia, Montana Wildaxe) on drums and Jon Bernstein on harmonica.
Broken Arrow (Neil Young Tribute)
Broken Arrow (Neil Young Tribute)
Broken Arrow performs the music of Neil Young, featuring both the rockin' electric Crazy Horse tunes and the more acoustic, pedal steel driven country rock material. The band is fronted by Joe Mass, veteran virtuoso Philly guitar player, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. ( Joe has accompanied artists such as Robert Hazard, Essra Mohawk, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Rick Derringer, and Johnny Winter, and he was music director for Grammy Award winning artist Michael Sembello. Joe's vocal and instrumental interpretation of Neil 's music is both faithful to the original, and yet approaches these iconic songs from a unique perspective.

Danny Gold plays bass and sings harmony. He is the owner of Danny's Guitar Shop in Narberth, and host of WHYY's Danny's Guitar Shop TV show (, A steady presence on Philly's live music scene since the 80's, Dan has played bass with The Dukes of Destiny, Beats Walkin', Ben Arnold, Wanamaker Lewis, and many other bands and artists.

On drums and vocal harmonies we have Larry Freedman, another Philadelphia band veteran for decades, who owns and operates 2nd Street Productions ( recording studio. Larry comes up with lot of the jingles and bumper music you hear on KYW and other radio stations. Larry and Danny played together in Ben Arnold's band, and in various other projects over the past 30 years. They are a rare example of a very musical rhythm section that instantly hits that sweeeet pocket without even thinking about it.

Marty Cohl handles electric and pedal steel guitar in Broken Arrow. His distinctive instrumental style is the band's secret sauce that gives these awesome tunes their twang-a-delic flavor. Marty was in a band with Danny in San Francisco back in the mid 70's, and they are excited to be making music together once again.

These guys are passionate about this powerful and emotional music they grew up with, and they have a blast performing it.
