Alfred James Band
Alfred James Band
With past venues that include the White House, NBC's The Today Show and ABC's Good Morning America, Carnegie Hall, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and The Academy of Music, the Alfred James Band is making waves with their cello-driven acoustic rock sound. Inspired by a variety of musicians including Yo Yo Ma, Sting, and Dave Matthews, Alfred James reminds audiences that the cello isn't just for classical music anymore!

AJB is currently in the studio recording their second album with Grammy winning producer, Ian Cross. Slated for a Fall 2013 release.

NPR featured their song, Better Days, on their online music show, All Songs Considered where it received the highest rating of any artist on the program.

XM Satellite Radio's XMU named Alfred James one of their Elite 27 of 2007 - the best 27 unsigned artists in the XM Nation and featured them on their year-end best of show.

The band toured Greece and Turkey in June 2007 accompanying The Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale. While they were on tour, XM Satellite Radio selected us as their Artist of the Week on The Radar Report.

AJB won a Grammy songwriting contest and performed at 2 Grammy showcases.

AJB has opened for... Rufus Wainwright, Bruce Hornsby, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Marc Cohn, They Might Be Giants, and Suzanne Vega...

Alfred was featured in Main Line Today Magazine as one of the Main Line's Artists to Watch.

Lucky If Easy was nominated for 2 Underground Grammy's in 2006 -- for Album of the Year and Song of the Year. After a trip out to LA, it took home 4th place out of over 3000 submissions!

Alfred started playing the cello as a young boy after his father (a surgeon and amateur cellist) suffered a stroke that ended both his surgical and musical careers. Alfred picked up his dad's cello where he left off and the rest as they say is history...

The Alfred James Band is...

Alfred Goodrich: Cello, Vocals, Didgeridoo
Avery Coffee: Electric & Acoustic Guitars
Pat Brennan: Bass
Valerie Vuolo: Violin
Brian "Fitzy" Fitzgerald: Electric Violin
Jenn Bostic
Jenn Bostic
Jenn is an emotive pop singer, songwriter and pianist, originally from Minnesota, currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. She recently received 5 ICMA Awards, including Best Female Artist and Best Songwriter. Her YouTube hit "Jealous of the Angels," which has over 1.3 million views, is currently receiving major radio play in the United Kingdom. The music has been compared to that of Sara Bareilles and Sarah McLachlan with a touch of Bonnie Raitt. With sold old shows at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City, Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, and recently performing at both the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Bostic is winning hearts across the globe.
Sami Hope
Sami Hope
Sami has been writing songs from a young age, but being a clarinet player, she needed a new medium to enable her to sing and play her songs at the same time. She picked up the banjo and began writing immediately. This past year she released a full length album of original music entitled, Untangle The Threads, at the Painted Bride in Philadelphia, shared the stage with the Alfred James Band and Jenn Bostic at the Ardmore Music Hall, is a new member of the Philadelphia Songwriter’s project, and frequents local open mic nights. She continues to write and is excited to be adding an electric guitar to her toolbox.

Sami Hope’s soulful, sultry voice navigates an organic, eclectic mix of light, airy textures, funky beats and gritty rock elements that teeter on the edge of chaos, fluttered with quirky chord progressions and ever-changing meters. Her diverse taste in music and her years of studying performance and music theory, particularly jazz, shape the sounds she uses for song writing – pushing the boundaries of what you might expect from a banjo-fueled musician.
