Voodoo Dead
Voodoo Dead
For the 11th consecutive year, NYC-based promoters Nolafunk & CEG honor the spirit and music of New Orleans with their 11th Annual Nolafunk Mardi Gras Ball & Tour. The four shows will feature a band called Voodoo Dead that has only ever performed in New Orleans as a Jazz Fest late-night in 2015 and 2016. This particular lineup features an unprecedented artist lineup with Steve Kimock [RatDog, Rhythm Devils], Jackie Greene [Black Crowes, Phil & Friends], Oteil Burbridge [Dead & Co], Jeff Chimenti [Furthur, The Dead], Wally Ingram [Sheryl Crowe Band, Timbuk 3], plus special guest New Orleans-based Papa Mali of 7 Walkers, plus a brass band to be announced.
Special Guest Papa Mali of 7 Walkers
Special Guest Papa Mali of 7 Walkers
Best known as the 7 Walkers (featuring Bill Kreutzmann and George Porter Jr.) frontman, Papa Mali puts his own distinctive spin on American vernacular music and it shows in his live performances. Mali plays an enticing blend of blues, funk, swamp music, and soul. A second nature skill for most who call New Orleans home.
High & Mighty Brass Band
High & Mighty Brass Band
There’s a reason that musical trailblazers from Galactic to DJ Logic have recently chosen to collaborate with High and Mighty Brass Band! and legends such as Dr. John, Rebirth Brass Band, and Trombone Shorty have chosen them to share the stage. Co-mingling band members from New Orleans, NYC, and a host of other cities across the globe, this dynamic krewe has the unique ability to combine classic New Orleans Funk and R&B with more modern Afro-Beat and Hip Hop influences.

Their live performances are both fiercely entertaining and refreshingly inspiring, connecting the band with each and every audience member. Just catching a single performance will make it abundantly clear why HMBB! is known as “a party in progress!”
