Steal Your Peach (Playing a Mashup of The Allman Brothers + Grateful Dead)
Steal Your Peach (Playing a Mashup of The Allman Brothers + Grateful Dead)
We are a mixture of some of the best and hardest working musicians in the Philadelphia area specializing in the music of The Allman Brothers Band, while also blending songs of the The Band. Each of us has multiple projects currently both original and not, but have formed a bond here with some of our favorite and most influential music, paying close attention to detail of all of the original music, while also incorporating the fire of our own improvisational musical contributions to create a very tangible symbiotic experience between the band and the listeners. There is nothing like coming back to pay homage to the music that inspired us all to play.

"If you love R&B, Funk, Blues, Rock and Jazz and are a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, F. W. Murnau, Bram Stoker, Tod Browning, Robert Wiene, Friedrich Christian Anton "Fritz" Lang, Werner Herzog, Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso, you're gonna LOVE this!"

Ron Holloway is one of the busiest tenor saxophonists on today's music scene in any genre! Recently, Ron toured extensively with The Warren Haynes Band, in support of two critically acclaimed releases on the Stax Records label. Holloway is a frequent guest of Gov't Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band and The Allman Brothers Band. Over the years, he has been a member of an eclectic roster of groups, including; the Susan Tedeschi Band, the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet, Gil Scott-Heron and Root Boy Slim. Ron is currently a member of The Warren Haynes Band and leads his own band- The Ron Holloway Band.

The Ron Holloway Band delivers sax driven funk jams with soaring female vocals, soul soaked Hammond B3, intensely emotive guitar, and hard hitting grooves. A relatively young band, this group has quickly made waves on the festival scene. The peak of attention was captured when Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks personally endorsed the band at the 2014 Peach Festival by joining them on stage.

Holloway combines passion and a broad dynamic range to generate an exciting and distinctive sound...Like [Sonny] Rollins, Holloway strives to push the tenor sax beyond the limits of its dynamic range. He notes that the instrument was originally designed to play a range of two and a half octaves. By using special fingering techniques, Holloway can hit registers spanning almost five octaves. Holloway demonstrates his extraordinary range while maintaining precise control over a melody. As Holloway hits the highest register, Dr. [Billy] Taylor remarks, "That’s amazing to me". -- NPR.org

Ron proudly endorses Theo Wanne products and is the recipient of no less than forty-two Washington Area Music Awards, two of them for Musician of the Year. "Among the many things I would like to do, is reflect the entire history of the tenor saxophone in my playing. The saxophone is a relatively young instrument but what an illustrious legacy it already has. There's much to be done!"

Andy Mowatt's Steely Jam
Andy Mowatt's Steely Jam
"Consistently stellar" (Price, PA Musician Mag), "Andy Mowatt's Steely Jam" is a funk-driven powerhouse from Pennsylvania, led by guitarist Andy Mowatt, "an absolute musical genius" (Devoy, Tellus 360) and "jazz-rock flamethrower on guitar" (Campbell, Gigspots). A fusion of New Orleans and Central PA, Mowatt's "bright arrangements keep things sounding fresh" (PA Musician) and "inspire you to expand your mind and think outside the confines of traditional jazz, soul and funk!" (Robert, Positive Music Reviews). "Confident, to-the-point, and elegant" (Rocha, The Flinging Times), Andy and his group entertain and impress crowds with unique originals and modern twists on classic hits, "and yet, through many influences, each tune retains a sound that is distinctly Mowatt's" (O'Brien, Fly Magazine).
