Catullus does Rocky Horror Picture Show
Catullus does Rocky Horror Picture Show
Emerging from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Catullus is building a reputation up and down the East coast for their deep grooving and sweat inducing sets. The ecstatic and energetic music that exudes from the five talented musicians effortlessly oscillates between progressive funk-rock, and electronic untz. Steeped in the improvisational tradition, each set carries with it the potential of 1,000 different paths forged only at the moment of inspiration. The powerful vocal harmonies and lyrics truly makes Catullus a unique experience that is not to be missed.

Catullus has been blessed to share the stage with such acts as Lotus, Dopapod, Papadosio, Consider the Source, Moon Hooch, The Mantras, The Heavy Pets, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Tauk, Big Something, Brother's Past, Suckerpunch, Jimkata, Out of the Beardspace, Native Maze and Big Something just to name a few. They are in the midst of completing their first album, set to be released later in 2015. Stay tuned on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter for updates and links.
The Underwater Sounds
The Underwater Sounds
The energy - and history - of reggae, funk, and jazz inspire THE UNDERWATER SOUNDS to create a listening experience that alternates between moments of psychedelic improvisation and deep groove. Formed in Philadelphia in 2009 and fronted by singer-songwriter Sonni Shine, this 5-piece takes an unconventional approach while incorporating captivating female vocals and conscious lyrics.

THE UNDERWATER SOUNDS play regularly in their home city of Philadelphia, PA at venues such as The Blockley, World Café Live, the TLA, North Star Bar and Underground Arts. Since 2010, the band has helped to produce the music festival May Flora Fest, and has toured throughout the East Coast, remaining completely DIY in their efforts. In 2014 they released their 3rd studio album, which continues to develop their signature sound: rhythms influenced by reggae and world music, topped with soulful vocal melodies.

With performances that are always fresh and ambitious, THE UNDERWATER SOUNDS strive to keep their crowd moving and surprise them regularly with a variety of styles and unexpected covers. It’s a genuine message of love that has propelled them to share the stage as direct support with the likes of Groundation, John Brown’s Body, Snarky Puppy, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Orgone, Pimps of Joytime, The Slackers, Dumpstaphunk, Dopapod, The Heavy Pets, Zach Deputy, and many more. While keeping their feet grounded in the roots of reggae music, THE UNDERWATER SOUNDS consistently deliver authentic and unique performances.

Swift Technique's Funk Throwdown: Prince vs. Morris Day"
Over the past five years, the eight piece Funk Ensemble has relentlessly toured, performed and recorded throughout the US. The extremely positive chemistry shared by the band is translated when performing live. Swift Technique brings an electric energy and party style atmosphere on stage. Although the group draws from many world influences, their genre is uniquely Philadelphia.

Throughout their short history, Swift Technique has had the privilege to hold direct support slots for The Meters, Wu-Tang Clan, Soulive, Kermit Ruffins, Page Mconnell, Wale, Questlove of the Roots, Keri Hilson, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Orgone, Kung Fu, Mr. Lif, The Fela! Band and others. Swift Technique has also performed at the Philadelphia Experiment PEX Festival, The Northeast Kingdom Music Festival, The Muddy River Jam Festival and others. The band has just completed back to back tours throughout Chicago, New Orleans, North and South Carolina, Nashville, Los Angeles, San Diego, Venice Beach and San Francisco to name a few.
You Do You
You Do You is a genre-defying Philadelphia 5-piece that plays funk, soul and rock & roll. Formed in 2012 by lead vocalist Katie Feeney and Drew Parker, You Do You is quickly making a name for themselves in the local scene with tight 4-part harmonies, wailing riffs and electrifying 70s era showmanship. You Do You released their 1st single, the quirky country rock lament "Darling, My Dear," in August 2013 and followed it up with their debut album "The Sweet Sounds of the Funky Sounds" in January 2014. Already called "a well-crafted genre-defying album" by WXPN's The Key, this is only a glimpse of the band's electric funky soul sound. They are currently working on a follow up EP due fall 2014.
